Estes Park Snowy Engagement Photos
Okay. There is simply NOTHING dreamier than Alicia and Michael’s engagement photos from Bear Lake in Estes Park. It truly felt like we were in a real life snow globe or in a Hallmark movie and I dreammmm about going back in time to relive this day!
Planning
This was my second session with these two wonderful humans. For our first session, it was a little fancier and during the summer. With the opportunity to work together again, we went a totally opposite direction this time! We decided on a super cozy, casual, winter in the mountains session. Based on my editing style and what would look best against the snow, Alicia and Michael opted for darker neutrals for their outfit choices - and they nailed it!
Day Of
I went up to RMNP early that day to scout all of the gorgeous location options. We opted for a pretty pull-off and Bear Lake. When I tell you that this day was the most stereotypical Colorado winter day…I mean it! It was WINDY as heck and the snow was coming down. But with good spirits, we moved quickly and got some truly incredible shots.
Once we got to Bear Lake, we decided to venture out onto the frozen lake and into the trees. Me, being 4’10”, practically buried in the snow with each step I took. It was absolutely hilarious and I had so much fun laughing with these sweet couple.
Good to Know
If you decide to have a photoshoot here, just remember that RMNP does require a permit! You must apply, provide proof of insurance, and pay their $50 fee. It is also important to be aware of your surroundings with wildlife, stay on designated trails or pull-off areas, and be courteous to other people in the park!
